El impacto de las adquisiciones empresariales en la actividad tecnológica: una aplicación al sector manufacturero español

The increasing role of M&As as a way of internationalisation have motivated a special interest about their causes and consequences in the economics literature. Although technology is a key factor in the decision to become involved in cross-border M&As, there is still hardly conclusive evidence regarding the effects of these transactions in the companies' innovative profile. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the technological impacts of both cross-border and domestic M&As in Spanish manufacturing industries. Results confirm the existence differences across the acquiring firms' ownership and the R&D intensity of industries.
