Bis[1-(4-iodobenzyl)pyridinium] bis(maleonitriledithiolato)nickelate(II)

In the crystal structure of the title complex, (C12H11IN)2[Ni(C4N2S2)2], the [Ni(mnt)2]2− anion (mnt is maleonitriledithiolate) lies on an inversion center and possesses a square-planar geometry. Strong S⋯I stacking interactions are observed between anions and cations in the crystal structure, with S⋯I separations of 3.3863 (9) A.
