NONLINEAR MAGNETIC COUPLING OF A PIEZOELECTRIC ENER GY HARVESTING CANTILEVER COMBINED WITH VELOCITY-CONTRO LLED SYNCHRONIZED SWITCHING TECHNIQUE

This study reports the nonlinear magnetic coupling technique combined with the velocity-controlled synchronized switching technique to improve the out put power of a piezoelectric energy harvesting cant ilever beam. This is a new and interesting thinking to combine t wo nonlinear techniques. The magnetic coupling make s a nonlinear behavior of the cantilever and this behav ior can broaden the available band-width. The nonli ear system combined with parallel SSHI can improve the output ower at each frequency and from the simulation res ult; the synchronized switch technique will not influence th e magnetic nonlinear effect. When these two nonline ar techniques are combined together, the advantage wil l also be combined. The theoretical analysis, equiv alent circuit model and preliminary experimental results will be pr sented.
