Leistungsbewertung von Hochgeschwindigkeitsnetzen

Fortschritte auf dem Gebiet der Glasfasertechnologie ermoglichen heute Netze mit Ubertragungsraten im hohen Megabit/s-Bereich. Diese Netze sind daruber hinaus in der Lage, relativ grose geographische Distanzen zu uberdecken. Im Vergleich zum Design ‘klassischer’ Lokaler Netze wird eine weitgehende Neukonzeption der eingesetzten Protokolle erforderlich, von der insbesondere die unteren Ebenen des ISO-Referenzmodells betroffen sind. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt einen Uberblick uber die derzeit wichtigsten Protokolle zur Regelung des Medienzugangs in Hochgeschwindigkeitsnetzen und diskutiert deren Leistungsfahigkeit unter besonderer Berucksichtigung von Fairness-Aspekten.
