The key to valid computer-based testing : the user interface

Although in dramatic growth, computer-based testing (CBT) is the target of concerns regarding a central element of its paradigm: test item presentation. In essence, its equivalency respective to other forms of psychological assessment is becoming questioned. Here, CBT item presentation is portrayed as an extremely complex fusion of perceptual, cognitive and psychological dyna;ics requiring considerable professional expertise in its design and application. If its presentation surface is not designed correctly, CBT can result in lowered test performance and reduced validity.
