Multivariable Control Systems Design: A case Study of Robust Control of Nuclear Power Plants

The computer aided robust multivariable control system design procedure is given. The procedure allows the possibility of addinq extra controllers which can be used to improve the robustness characteristics of the nominal system. New robustness results in output feedback control system desiqns are presented which lead to reduction of conservatism in robustness tests. A mathematical model of a real physical system, a nuclear power plant, is used to demonstrate the power of the proposed methodolony for stability robustness analysis and robust multivariable control systems desiqn.
