Method and system for matching users based on the user preference index

A method and a system for matching users based on a user preference index are provided to perform user-user, user group-user group, or user-user group matching by concretely/systematically collecting and utilizing personal/subjective preference of a plurality of users connected to the wired/wireless network. A preference index matching server(200) stores the user preference index inputted from user terminal(100) connected through the wired/wireless network to a database(300), stores a matching result to the database by searching and matching the preference indexes stored in the database, and transmits the matching result to the user terminal. The database stores the user preference index received from the user terminal and the matching results received from the preference index matching server. The user preference index comprises categories of the preference index and preference index items of each category, and the category has the plurality of hierarchical structures. An upper category comprises a preference field of the user and a lower category includes concrete content items related to the preference field of the user.
