Pléiades Tri-Stereo-Bilder im Hochgebirge ‒ eine Parameterstudie mit PCI Geomatics

Digital terrain models are an important basis for the cartography of the alpine club. In this study various elevation models were derived from Pléiades 1B imagery and later validated under the aspect that they might be an alternative to ALS data in high altitude alpine regions. Therefore the influence of several factors such as Wallis Filter, B/H ratio, GCPs and TPs on the DSM calculation with PCI Geomatics is investigated. Validations of height accuracy based on a comparison with an ALS by the state of Tyrol showed that GCPs are important for deriving high-quality DSMs to meet the cartographic demands. Altitude inaccuracy in shadow areas of steep mountains can only slightly be improved with the Wallis Filter.
