A New Method for Ranking Fuzzy Numbers

A new method for ranking fuzzy numbers is proposed,and some of its desirable properties are studied.The method can not only rank fuzzy numbers with the membership functions taking some special forms,such as triangular,trapezoidal,etc,but also can compare those fuzzy numbers whose membership functions are subsection-monotone functions.At the same time,it can also consider the decision maker′s risk attitude.Finally,some illustrative examples are given.
