Hybrid III 50 th Percentile Featureless Headform의 가속도 값에 영향을 미치는 주요인자에 관한 연구

A special Hybrid III 50th Percentile headform is needed to perform the FMH Impact Test, which is one of the legal tests of North America. The Featureless Headform (i.e., a Hybrid III head without nose) should be used to cope with the US regulation that requires the headform’s forehead make initial contact with vehicle interior parts. To validate the headform’s effectiveness a head drop test is performed by means of evaluating its acceleration peak value after soaking the headform in a test environment for a period of at least 4 hours prior to the test. If the headform’s acceleration characteristic does not satisfy the requirement, a big loss cannot be evaded. So in order to eliminate this loss and to understand headform’s acceleration characteristics better, we first defines factors that affect the peak resultant acceleration of the headform when it is conducted the drop test and study how each factor affects the peak acceleration’s variance quantitatively using DOE and FE Analysis.
