Methodology for Full Waveform Near Real-Time Automatic Detection and Localization of Microseismic Events Using High (8 kHz) Sampling Rate Records in Mines: Application to the Garpenberg Mine (Sweden)

This work was supported by Ineris’ data collection, and funding of the Master internship was cofinanced by the European Union Seismology and Earthquakes Engineering Research Infrastructure Alliance for Europe (EU SERA) project (Project ID: 730900, X, WP JRA1, H2020 program) and European Plate Observing System (EPOS) project (Project ID: 676564, WP14, H2020 program). The authors thank Boliden Company for scientific collaboration and support in conducting this project, with special thanks to the engineers Shahram Mozaffari, Anders Nystrom, and Peter Fjellstrom. The first author was a student of the Paris Exploration Geophysics Group program (GPX), funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR), Compagnie Generale de Geophysique (CGG), TOTAL, and Schlumberger. The authors would like to thank Armand Lizeur (Ineris) for preparation of the raw data. The authors also express their thanks to Editors-in-Chief Zhigang Peng and Allison Bent, and an anonymous reviewer for constructive and insightful comments. Part of the analysis was implemented using ObsPy (Beyreuther et al., 2010). Figures were prepared using Matplotlib (Hunter, 2007).
