QuaDRiGa: A MIMO channel model for land mobile satellite

QuaDRiGa, an acronym for QUAsi Deterministic RadIo channel GenerAtor, combines the advantages of deterministic and statistical channel modelling. A geometry based approach allows the emulation of antenna effects, whereas the propagation characteristics are described by statistical models. The concept as known from the WINNER project has been adapted for Land Mobile Satellite including time-series generation for circular polarization transmission. The model parameter database is extracted from measurements. For urban environments a full wideband characterization was performed. For other environments an extension of model parameters is attempted using narrowband data.
