Researches on Double Swirl Combustion System for Diesel Engine

The quick mixing principle of double swirl combustion system (DSCS) is discussed in this paper according to High Speed Photography tests and multidimension simulations of diesel fuel spray.Meanwhile,the tests on several diesel engines of 150 serise showed that DSCS can reduce fuel consumption effectively and be applied on the diesel engine under high turbocharging pressure.The test results also showed that DSCS can enlarge the economical operation zone of diesel engine with variable intake swirl system.
