Market-based resource control for mobile Agents

Mobile Agents are programs that can migrate from machine to machine in a heterogeneous network. As mobile Agents move across a network, they consume resources. Not only is there the additional congestion incurred through normal mobile Agent use,but there are additional risks from denial-of-service attacks and other irresponsible uses of resources. The problem is remedied by inposing an ecnomic market on mobile-Agent systems where Agents purchase resources from host sites. Fixed-pricing and dynamic-pricing polcies for resources are discussed. The implementation of market-based resource control is also analyzed.
