Analysis of intercostal effect on dual gridded reflectors

Dual gridded reflector antennas (DGR) are highly employed in satellite communications due to their ability of meeting with dual-linearly polarized contour beam requirements using the help of reflector shaping technologies [1]. A DGR is composed of a front grid and a back reflector or shell. Both surfaces are shaped to produce dual linear polarized patterns with good cross-polarization isolation.
