Some real-time requirements in continuous multimedia applications

Multimedia computing has emerged in the last ten years as a major area of research. These computer systems have opened a wide range of potential applications by combining a variety of information sources, such as voice, graphics, animation, images, audio, and full-motion video. The fundamental characteristic of multimedia systems is that they incorporate continuous media such as voice, video, and animated graphics. In this paper, we discuss some real-time issues in continuous media and some solutions to deal with them.
