Effect of adding MMT to the coal on carbon content in fly ash and the NO_x emission

The carbon content in fly ash and nitrogen oxide emission characteristics of combustion with Shenhua coal,added with MMT were investigated in the drop tube furnace.Then the burn-off rate of coals was analysed.Results showed that the design of the drop tube furnace could meet the demand of the experiment.Both the carbon content in fly ash and nitrogen oxide emission decreased while adding MMT.Compared with raw coal,the maximum decrease of the carbon content in fly ash was 18.39% while that of the nitrogen oxide emission was 14.29%,as the combustion products of MMT could accelerate the oxygenation of carbon on one hand,and it rendered NOx and O2 in competition when it was reacting with the carbon(CO),making part of the NOx deoxidized on the other hand.
