Self Tuning PID Controller for Main Steam Temperature in the Power Plant

In this paper, a PID self-tuning controller is used for the control of main steam temperature in the power plant. A common weakness of these self-tuning PID controllers is their inability to cope with dead time processes. In this paper, self-tuning controller based on pole assignment approach, which can overcome constant and known dead time is used and the results show that the controller works well in handling dead-time process.
