Virtual Museum as an Example of 3D Content Distribution in the Architecture of a Future Internet

Digitisation of historical objects scattered among museums allows to create virtual exhibitions. Distributed Virtual Museum facilitates visualisation and arrangement of a digitised content in a 3D stereoscopic presentation environment. The system relies on a content-aware network (CAN) architecture created in the FIE project for content localization and delivery. Progressive mesh transmission is used to create adequate exhibition representations.
