Gasket Stress Analysis Based on Bolt Flange Connection System

Based on the stress concentration,the non-linear characteristics of the gasket material as well as the components non-linear contact of the flange bolt connection system,and the parameterized three dimensional finite element model was established.The components interaction of the flange bolt connection system was studied,and the affect of preload and sealing medium pressure and other factors on the gasket stress was analyzed.The results show that gasket stress increase along with the increase of the node radius and the preload,but decreases along with the increase of sealing medium pressure,stress nearby bolt significantly greater than others.When the gasket outermost stress is lower than the minimum stress of the sealing requirements,the leak occurs.
