Ictal bradycardia and asystole in an adult with a focal left insular lesion

Patients with bradycardia and asystole during an epileptic eizure have the ictal bradycardia syndrome. In a recent study, ur group analyzed the ictal heart rate and seizure localization in 9 consecutive individuals with intractable epilepsy and observed ctal bradycardia in five individuals (7.2%), two of which also preented ictal asystole. Ictal bradycardia and asystole have mainly een observed during temporal lobe seizures [2,4,6]. We present ere a case of ictal bradycardia/asystole with a left insular lesion.
