On one-sided filters for spectral Fourier approximations of discontinuous functions

In this paper the existence of one-sided filters is proved for spectral Fourier ap- proximations of discontinuous functions, which can recover spectral accuracy up to the discontinuity from one side. A least square procedure is used to construct such a filter and is tested on several discontinuous functions numerically.
