Apparatus and method for implementation of path information combiner buffer in multipath receiver of a mobile communication system

An apparatus for implementing a buffer of a path information combiner in a multipath receiver of a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to enhance complexity of hardware and power consumption by reducing the size of the buffer. An apparatus for implementing a buffer of a path information combiner in a multipath receiver of a mobile communication system comprises a range adjuster(305), a combiner buffer(315), a combiner(310), a measurer(320), a controller(325) and an encoder(330). The range adjuster selects a data range according to a signal value for selecting an input range in order to encode data modulated for each path, and adds a delay value for each data path for combining and storing the data at the combiner buffer. The combiner buffer stores outputted signals. The combiner combines the outputted signals, transmits the combined signals to the combiner buffer, and outputs a value on a data range signal except for the delay value for each path from the data stored at the combiner buffer. The measurer measures the outputted value on the data range signal. The controller generates an input range selection signal value for encoding on the basis of the measured value and transmits the input range selection signal value to the range adjuster for adjusting the range of the modulated data. The encoder encodes the data range signal.
