ARCTIC NAVIGATION TASK ANALYSIS: DATABASE AND MODELING

The aim of this project was to establish a database of operator activities, communications and movements that occur on ships bridges in Arctic navigation, and to apply stochastic modeling techniques to the data to reveal the structure and dependencies among these events. In the report, the organization of the database and access to it are described. Figures, tables and summary statistics are presented that describe the frequency of occurrence of various events on each of the ships in the database and their distributional characteristics. The stochastic structures of the activities, communications, and movements of the officers are assessed.
