Creating a Smart Virtual Personality

As people are getting more and more dependent on using the computer for a variety of tasks, providing interfaces that are intelligent and easy to interact with, has become an important issue in computer science. Current research in computer graphics, artificial intelligence and cognitive psychology aims to give computers a more human face, so that interacting with computers becomes more like interacting with humans. With the emergence of 3D graphics, we are now able to create very believable 3D characters that can move and talk. However, the behaviour that is expressed by such characters is far from believable in a lot of systems. We feel that these characters lack individuality.
