Results of discussions at the IMIA WG 13 and 15 working conference

During the working conference of IMIA working groups 13 and 15 in Helsinki, 27 February–1 March 1998, many discussions took place in small groups as well as in plenary sessions. The discussions were inspired by the presentations, as well as by the topics brought forward by the individual participants. Some groups dealt with conceptual issues, others with more strategic issues. The groups topics appeared complementary to each other. In this report, the results, representing the general consensus achieved in the plenary sessions, are summarized under the headings ‘conceptual level’, ‘strategy’ and ‘action plan’. This report is based on the individual reports made in each of the four discussion groups.
