Design of wideband low noise amplifier based on ADS software simulation

This paper presents a method to design the wideband Low Noise Amplifier(LNA) by using the ADS software.Firstly a method to design the impedance matching network by using the asymmetry crisscross knot of microstrip was introduced,which has good performances of wideband and compact structure compared with the traditional matching network of single frequency point.Then a one-stage Ku waveband low noise amplifier(LNA) was designed.The input and output networks were matched by using the asymmetry crisscross knot of microstrip.At last the designed amplifier was simulated and optimized by using the electromagnetic simulation software ADS.The simulation results show that the amplifier meets the required performance of noise figure,gain and VSWR in a range from 8 GHz to 14 GHz.
