Dual-line digital audio interface

The present invention relates to a two-wire digital audio interface. The audio input interface may comprise a two input signals to transmit audio data. The first signal line may carry a serial digital audio data. A second signal line may carry a signal for distinguishing the word clock of the serial audio data transmitted in the first signal line. In the case of stereo audio data, the word clock signal may correspond to the left and right clock signal, and can be distinguished for the right channel of audio data and audio data for the left channel. The audio data can also be differentiated according to different configurations, for example, audio data in a case where the transmission comprises more than two audio channels. The word clock signal may be scaled to a bit clock signal to regenerate the serial audio data for encoding of the first signal line. No need to transmit coded bit clock signal.
