A small capacity steam turbine is developed for utilizing the waste pressure of steam in power, chemical, steel-making and incineration plants. The present steam turbine is designed as single stage with high hub-to-tip ratio and plane cascade type. The performance prediction of the designed steam turbine is carried out by the through-flow analysis method coupled with flow deviation and pressure loss correlation models. The three dimensional and local flow fields between the blades rows of the turbine are analyzed by using the CFD technique of CFX code. The performance prediction results are compared with the actual steam turbine test results and the comparison results are well agreed within a few percent relative error.
