STUDY ON STEERING WHEEL SHIMMY OF A CAR AT HIGH VELOCITY

In this paper based on the multibody system dynamics, a 1/4 - suspension model with 27 DOFs for the car's front MacPherson suspension was built by using the ADAMS software. A series of digital simulation were performed. Then a method to control the steering wheel shimmy of a car at high velocity was put forward. A series of road test have been carried out, which prove that the method is effective.
