Design and implementation of an ‘Internet of Things’ based quality control system

This paper presents a methodology to establish a smart and real time manufacturing quality control system by using Internet of Things (IOT) technologies. Rooting in the manufacturing management pattern, the paper comes up with the Smart Station (SS) architecture framework, under which ZigBee network (Z-net) is used for data transmission and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is used for station component recognition. In addition, Multivariate Statistic Process Control (MSPC) is introduced as a data analysis method based on SS framework, and the system software is developed as an android application for mobility.
