Generalized Multi-Stream Faster-than-Nyquist Transmission with Symbol-by-Symbol Detection

We propose a generalized Faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) scheme for spectrally-efficient optical fiber transmission. The FTN signal is represented as multiple independent streams, which enables the application of low-complexity symbol-by-symbol detection.
