The disperion-relation sum ruie of Gell-Mann, Goldberger, and Thirring is generalized to incorporate the hadronic shadowing effects observed in high- energy photon-nucleus interactions. Resulting sum-rule constraints on the high- energy behavior are discussed. (auth)
