Hemolysis and jaundice in the newborn following maternal treatment with sulfamethoxypyridazine (kynex).

Two cases of neonatal hemolysis and jaundice are reported in Negro male infants. Both infants were born to mothers who had been given sulfamethoxypyridazine (Kynex) prior to delivery. Both infants were deficient in erythrocyte G-6-PD. The role of sulfamethoxypyridazine in the production of neonatal jaundice is discussed.
