Space Vector Modulation Based on Lookup Table for a Dual-Inverter-Fed Open-End Winding PMSM Drive

This paper investigates a lookup-table-based hybrid modulation scheme combining six-step and pulse width modulations for a dual-inverter-fed open-end winding permanent magnet synchronous motor (OW-PMSM) drive. This modulation scheme utilizes a lookup table to control the switching states of one inverter directly, while the other inverter works as a compensation inverter. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the lookup-table-based modulation scheme, and the control performance of OW-PMSM drive with this scheme is examined over wide speed range. Comparative investigation of the lookup-table-based scheme and the conventional 180 ° decoupled modulation scheme is carried out.
