STUDY OF THE TRANSVERSE STABILITY OF A RAILWAY VEHICLE RUNNING AT HIGH SPEED

THE PRINCIPAL RESULTS OBTAINED IN THE STUDY OF THE TRANSVERSE STABILITY OF A WHEEL SET AND A BOGIE RUNNING ON A STRAIGHT TRACK ASSUMED TO BE WITHOUT FAULTS ARE PRESENTED AND ANALYZED. A GEOMETRICAL STUDY OF THE CONTACT BETWEEN RAIL AND WHEEL WAS MADE; ALSO, IN ORDER TO STUDY THE PSEUDO-SLIDING PHENOMENA, THE CONTACT ACTIONS BETWEEN RAIL AND WHEEL WERE CALCULATED. DIFFERENTIAL SYSTEMS WERE FORMULATED WHICH REPRESENTED THE MOVEMENTS OF A WHEEL SET ELASTICALLY LINKED TO A RIGID FRAME, AND OF A BOGIE CONSISTING OF A MASS ELASTICALLY LINKED TO TWO WHEELS.
