ABSTRACT AFTER revised calibrations for electronic moisture meters were placed into effect on August 1, 1981 for Illinois and Iowa, the accuracy of the calibrations were tested during the Fall 1981 harvest using natually wet corn samples. At the University of IlHnois the moisture content of 690 samples was measured three times in each of six commonly used commercial moisture meters, additional data from the IlHnois Department of Agriculture is presented for 176 samples tested in 10 commercial moisture meters. Moisture contents of the samples ranged form 11 to 36%. Moisture meter bias was significantly affected by hand versus combine shelling for some meters. Ninty-five percent confidence hmits for meter tolerances typically ranged from ±0.8 percentage points at low moistures to ± 3.2 percentage points at high moistures. Motomco moisture meter accuracy at moistures above 22% was improved by the calibration changes
