Standby P2P Network to Substitute for Client-Server Network in Event of Interruption of Communication with the Server

In the smartphone application market, game apps generate enormous revenue. The game app market will continue to grow. Many game apps are of client-server type, which requires synchronization of data between the client and the server. These apps have low availability because they cannot work if communication with the server is interrupted, which often occurs due to scheduled maintenance or network or server failures. This paper proposes to use a standby P2P network to ensure client-server type applications to continue to work even when communication with the server is interrupted. This is achieved by making a standby P2P network perform the server functions. Experiments were carried out to measure the response time and the application normal operation continuity rate while a client-server type app was compelled to operate in a P2P network.
