Coupling Multiple Simulations via a High Performance Customizable Database System

Environmental simulation tools can be used to simulate physical phenomena over relatively long periods of time, so can generate large amounts of simulation data (up to multiple terabytes). Large amounts of output data from a set of simulators can be stored in a database and post-processed, as needed, to generate the input data required by another set of simulators, to implement various coupled simulation scenarios. We present a parallel database system that can be used to e ciently couple such simulators.
