Lighting has been essential to human life since the discovery of fire. Since the history of artificial lighting was initially derived from fire, it has been switched from combustion lighting systems generating high heat to electric lighting systems. Furthermore, the development of electronic lighting has changed human light usage radically. The historical and technological development of lighting has kept expanding the role of modern lighting. That is, the functionality of simply lighting up a particular area or location has been expanded for a wide variety of purposes. Therefore, indoor lighting fixtures have begun to express individuality and to induce feelings for space through lighting effects beyond the purpose of illuminating a particular place because lighting effects can bring about emotional characteristics such as attractiveness and pressure. The extended concept of lighting focuses on meeting additional purposes such as aesthetic aspects beyond its basic purpose and role. In particular, there have been numerous studies to meet the aesthetic sensibility of the lighting itself in the idle state. In this paper, we have tried to extend the concept of lighting to support other lighting functions such as information delivery even in its idle state beyond its own capabilities. In particular, we have implemented the prototype by using weather API on the Web platform which distributes most information all over the world. There are no significant differences between using weather information API to create a series of prototypes and using the services provided by the recently popular SNS and other internet programs. Therefore, the approach using weather information is also expected to be extended in other various ways. In addition, it is possible to consider the structural implementation in many different ways. In particular, we have tried to keep the emotional aspects through the dynamic representation of the information with the surface light source rather than the efficiency aspects through the detailed representation of the information with the point light source matrix. However, the proposed view and approach can be reconfigured in other various ways. In this study, the potential lighting system is expected to be actualized in order to support the simple but multiple representation of the information.
