Elastic scattering of 88.03-keV gamma rays.

Significant deviations previously reported [Phys. Rev. A 36, 5626 (1987)] between experimental and theoretical cross sections for elastic scattering of 88.03-keV [gamma] rays through 125[degree] have been removed. The present paper shows that the [ital S]-matrix treatment is successful in predicting [gamma]-ray elastic-scattering cross sections even very close to [ital K]-shell thresholds of high-[ital Z] elements.
