Direct determination of cell diameter, surface area, and volume with an electronic volume sensing flow cytometer.

A method is described in which the volume, surface area, and diameter of spherical cells can be quickly and easily determined from linear calibration curves using a flow cytometer which measures electronic volume and is equipped with a log amplifier.
