A new error control techinque for the parallel combinatory spread spectrum communication system

A new error control scheme for the parallel combinatory spread spectrum (PC/SS) communication system is proposed. In the PC/SS system, the information data is transformed into the combination of plural pseudo-noise (PN) sequences. In the proposed scheme, an optical orthogonal code (OOC) is used for making a combination of transmitting PN sequencies. In the receiver, maximum-likelihood decision demodulation with the OOC is performed. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated on the bit error probability by computer simulation. From the results, it is found that more than 1 dB improvement of required E/sub b//N/sub 0/ is achieved by the proposed scheme with no spread of transmitting bandwidth.<<ETX>>
