Abraham Lincoln as Authentic Reproduction: A Critique of Postmodernism

L'A. va a l'encontre du courant postmoderniste (et plus particulierement de J. Baudrillard et U. Eco) qui critique la nature inauthentique des sites construits aux Etats-Unis. Il definit dans un premier temps l'authenticite (quasi-similitude, similitude, originalite et autorite) avant de prendre l'exemple du site historique reconstitue de New Salem (village illinois ou vecu Lincoln dans les annees 1930). Il explique en quoi ces reconstitutions ne sont pas uniquement negatives
