Compressible bubbles with surface tension

A level-set based model is described for computing compressible multifluid dynamics. A ‘stiffened’ equation of state is assumed, which may be used to model both gas and liquid phases. Forces due to surface tension are included in the model. They take the form of a singular source term at the material interface. The singular nature of the source term and the different compressibilities of the fluid components make the model stiff and problems challenging to compute. We present computations of an oscillating bubble with surface tension.
