Recent developments in the methodology for the formulation and organization of design specifications

Abstract The paper describes a methodology which can be of considerable assistance to specification developers to insure that specifications are clear, concise, complete and unambiguous. The application of the methodology to the development of the LRFD criteria is illustrated, and a number of new insights, concepts and needs, identified as a result of interaction with the LRFD criteria development and similar projects, are described.
