Use of the liquid-gas solution for autonomous heat transfer downwards

Publisher Summary This chapter deals with liquid–gas solution used for heat transfer. The simple circulation contour acting autonomously is proposed for the heat transfer from solar collector to the consumer located below. The contour is not filled by liquid heat-carrier completely and operates cyclically owing to gas, which reduces from warming solution and periodically pushes down the warmed liquid into warm branch of the contour. Heat intended for transfer is used to activate the circulation. Advantages of the device are autonomous action, simple construction, and ability to act at the pressure close to the atmospheric pressure. Safe substances as carbon dioxide, water, or propylene carbonate can be used as working substances.
