The Chromatographic Behavior of Some meta and para-Alkyloxy Derivatives of Tetraphenylporphyrin

The chromatographic behavior of twelve long-alkyl-chain derivatives of tetraphenylporphyrins has been compared on alumina and silica gel normal and reversed-phase TLC plates using several different organic mobile phases. The lengths of the alkyl chains and their positions of attachment (meta or para) play a crucial role during the process of resolution of these compounds.
