Long-Distance PDM-32QAM 3-Mode Fibre Transmission Over 1000 km Using Hybrid Multicore EDFA/Raman Repeated Amplification with Cyclic Mode Permutation

We demonstrate 1000-km long-distance transmission of PDM-32QAM signals over a few-mode fibre transmission line. We employed multicore EDFA and distributed Raman amplification at the repeater in combination with cyclic mode permutation, which improved OSNR and suppressed MDL and DMD impact.
