A linearity measurement technique for analogue-to-digital converters

Abstract A rapid, accurate and efficient technique for determining the differential linearity of analogue-to-digital converters is presented. The method is applicable to any ADC having a zero offset and is completely independent of the linearity of the test equipment. By sampling the entire range of the converter concurrently, independence from instabilities is achieved.
